First Saluki in America to become Best in Show at Wilmington under Judge Mrs. M. Harlety Dodge. Shown by Anne Marie Paterno, Marjan II began his career at six months. In 1940, he won the Hound Group at Westminster over 369 hounds. After an interval of several years, Marjan won the Hound Group again. He retired from the show ring with 125 Best of Breeds and multiple Group Is and Group Placements.

Marjan also appeared on the cover of Esquire magazine and was pictured at a National Dog Week Exhibition with actress Constance Bennett. Foundation sire of Mrs. Anna Marie Paterno's El Retiro Kennels.
