Savitar finished his championship in a few weeks of showing winning Breeds and group placements while with Jayne Harpling and then went to Ken Ownes in Texas to be specialed. Savitar refused to be contained by crates or fences. He sailed over the highest fences until an electric wire was run along the top. He destroyed crates in record time. One by one, his admirers gave up on him and he was returned to Srinagar. On that homeward flight he escaped from his crate and spent time running up and down the LA airport. When Shirley Townsend came from South Africa it was mutual love at first sight. Savitar runs the hundred-acre ranch in the Cape in South Africa, born to be free. Shirley Townsend. Savitar sired 9 litters in the US before going to South Africa.
